“Save! Sort! Set out!”: these were the instructions that this prototype logo, by Ecology Action, suggested for an audience that probably would not know the basics of recycling, as the process was just then being systematized in Berkeley.
Sketched with a conventional ballpoint ink pen, markers, and watercolor-style paint, the logo appears to have been drawn quickly and without too much hesitation. Yet it suggests the can-do spirit of Ecology Action and its overall approach to recycling.
