This women’s calendar, from April 1978, highlights the various communities that the center aimed to serve at the time. Pacific Center hosted specific “drop-in raps,” support groups, and other sessions for younger lesbians, “slightly older” lesbians, working-class lesbians, lesbians with kids, and gay black folks, along with several cultural activities (a theater event, “films and dance”).
Notably, this is a calendar that has no “Monday” on it: that day was blocked out for the very large Gay Men’s Monday Group—an aspect of the center which would become a point of contention during the early 1990s.
Also worth noting is the Racism Workshop, developed by Lenn Keller, which aimed to bring together Third World and white lesbians into a productive conversation.
