After going through the theory and background of the house, one would imagine that the Integral Urban House might look like some radical vision of the future, something out of The Jetsons or NASA. But, the House was simply a renovated late 19th-century Victorian house, a classic structure relatively common in Berkeley.

Although the house is under construction, these color photos showed a nice neighborhood home painted pale peach, with white accents on the windows and balconies. It presents a very welcoming front, as if one is stepping inside for a dinner party or a get-together. Yet, this plain and homely appearance betrays the fact that what one finds on the inside is very different. By masquerading their radical ideas behind the façade of a nice Victorian home, the Integral Urban House could push its ideas onto more people.
