As 43 graduating seniors adorning red and white carnation flowers experience the last time the 115 year old school has a Deaf graduation, Dr. Henry Klopping read aloud and signs a letter from the former Governor Brown.  Governor Brown addresses the final moments of the Berkeley site with future possibilities on mainstreaming education, for Deaf institutions to close and Deaf students to enter public or private schools with the majority of hearing students.  Although a somber moment, most staff and students are positive on their outlook toward the move to Fremont, California.  Although the city is different, the school remains the same, the Deaf community and culture begins to prosper in Fremont.
