Because they were located a bit off the beaten path on Dwight Street, they needed an eye-catching banner to announce the shop. Liane drew inspiration for the appliqué banner from the very same Costume Designs and Patterns book which many of her dresses. The front side of the banner pictured above from afar, features what Liane described as “very costumed lady” in “Eastern European” garb. The other side of the banner (not pictured), was adorned with a raised clenched fist, which carried revolutionary connotations especially waving outside a shop owned by self-proclaimed “Lefties.” The colorful patchwork costumed woman indicated, to those strolling by The Red Square, the internationally influenced offerings within.
