Lou Sullivan lived in San Francisco where he attended TS/TV (transsexual/transvestite) support groups at the Center for Special Problems and Bay Area Golden/Girls. Having heard of Pacific Center and its renowned programs, he decided to attend a meeting one night only to be sorely disappointed. Lou’s main problem was the lack of fellow assigned female at birth trans people in the groups, which is part of what prompted him to found FTM International later on. Regardless, Lou is an example of someone who traveled from across the Bay just to attend a meeting at Pacific Center, and he returned again a few months later.
