Rachel’s mother, Martha Krech, would take Rachel and her nanny Kathy Delacour up to the Berkeley hills for picnics. During these outings, they would dress in beautiful, old dresses acquired from consignment stores on the Avenue and take photographs of each other. This is a photograph taken on one such outing.
